Oil cooler mess

While driving home the car started pulling hard to the left when I'd brake. Then I tried pulling pulling away from the light and it was like I was on ice. As I was coming into my neighborhood the oil pressure light came on and I noticed the pressure had dropped. I pulled into the garage and shut the car off. I opened the door and was greeted by a trail of oil. Ends up the front oil cooler had come loose and the lines had fallen onto the front right wheel. It rubbed through and was spraying oil everywhere, which explained why the car was pulling as the front right wheel and brake were soaked in oil. Looks like I have a new (and messy) project.

The oil pressure started to drop a bit just around the corner from my house. Since the car was acting strange I was watching the gauges like a hawk. The oil level gauge (not that I completely trust it, but mine does seem pretty accurate), only dropped a tiny bit. I followed the oil trail back to where it started and I am thinking I lost less than a quart. The hole in the hose is literally the size of a pin, but with all that pressure spraying right against the tire it was probably making quite the mess. Speaking of messes, the entire right side and bottom of the car looks like the underside of most of the classic British cars I've owned... Gonna need a good scrubbing once its back together. With lots of degreaser.

Windsor: Very sorry for you issue, but that is really funny about the Brit cars....I can relate for sure.......Sounds like a mess, but should not be any damage to the engine. G'luck....
