green wire in engine compartment of 1982 911 SC

Hello,

I bought a 911 SC 1982 Targa some time ago. It had a previous life in Florida, then it passed 2 years in Holland and
now with me in Belgium.
I have bought Wayne Dempsey's handbook which helped me a lot doing some updates (Oil leaks, clutch replacement etc...)
After putting back the engine in it's compartment, I noticed a green wire (single thread, with a black connector at the
right sigde of the compartment). Does anybody know the purpose of this wire and where it's supposed to be connected to?

Thanks
Bas

Likely A/C compressor wire. Based on the bracket being there.

I'm not familiar with the specifics of the 1982 SC air conditioner system wiring, but based on its location, there is a good chance that is the power feed to the a/c compressor clutch. You could try verifying this by turning the a/c controls to max and seeing if the wire end registers voltage.

+1

Not the best pic but you can see the male connector from my Sanden compressor just above my left index finger. They work together but the old York had a square male connector if I remember right.
