The HD's all around should be very comfortable vs the harshness of the sports.

For me I have the HD fronts and Sport Rears. I'd say 3 hours total job if everything else is not an issue while you open her up.

PO put my previous Bilsteins over 170K miles ago, they seem to be still good as I gave them to my 87 buddy and it still works. I just wanted a fresh start so I swapped them.

+1. I have HD's on all four corners with stock t-bars, plus new ER rubber everywhere. It's really as compliant a ride as possible on the street.

Were the original front struts Bilstein? If so then you can get the HD inserts and put HDs on the rear. Mine were Boge struts and Boge shocks in the rear. I replaced with Koni Sport adjustables that were made to fit the Boge struts. On full soft they are very comfortable on the street and MILES better than the worn out Boges.

I think Boges are black and Bilsteins are green with a big roll pin through the front strut.
