A nice day with a nice drive. Not to mention coming up on a sign like this. Any Porsche driver knows the feeling.

A location would add more feeling to the pic.. like if you said low speed Oregun, or big speed Nevada.. it's a great picture to keep me motivated.. to get my 911 rolling again for a big ride
Thanks.........Ron

The Sierra Nevada foothills are loaded with magnificent uncrowded curves. I'm just guessing, but that picture looks like Hwy 4 on the way to Alpine. There is also a sign like that on Mines road between Livermore and Patterson. Yum.

When I first saw this, I thought of that area.
I am in Stockton and hit up 12, 88, 49 whenever I can, these are just north of Modesto. I've been on 108 a couple times I am betting this is in that area... If you haven't done it, drive highway 4 through Copperopolis to Angels Camp. Turn around and repeat! YeeeHaaw! jmc |

Great photo, Plavan! I love those kind of photos. They remind me that it's time for another Melbourne run!
Taken from my DV camera... ![]()

This drive is on hwy 132 (Yosemite Blvd) towards La Grange, CA (there is also a guy that makes Porsche interior/carpet items out here, he has an Excellence add in the back. Just go to freeway 99 to Modesto then head east on 132. This will take you up the "long" way past Lake Don Pedro to hwy 49. Very fun drive with great elevation changes (like a roller coaster). I may have to do it again today!

Chad,
No rear plate in that shot. Is that some creative Photoshop or are you not planning on stopping for the local enforcement? Must have been a memorable day! David |

That's Decker Canyon, Mark, which runs from the Pacific Coast Highway, up, across Mulholland, and then down to the Valley. It's parallel to Topanga Canyon, but further north, twistier, and less populated.

I have yet to register the car in CA. Thats why there are no plates. You know all about DMV lines....no thanks. I bought it from an owner from TN in October who did a full, ground up restoration on it. It is a mint 911.
I wonder if the local deputies could catch me....hmmmm..... I do have track tires, full track susp, rollbar, strut brace, 6 point belts, 22mm sway bars, S aluminum calipers and a nice 2.2L S 180hp MFI motor... Don't tempt me. I would love to take my real racecar out on those roads, but I think the numbers/racing decals might give it away. (I'm much smarter than that though.... at least sitting in front of my computer.. )

Hal, that's one sweet silver car leading that group, but what fool would bring a bunch of Porsches into the mountains in the rain HAHAHA!! That's a good shot, interesting date - what better way to spend your former wedding anniversary (mine, that is) than driving the twisties!!
Hoping for dry roads on the 25th.
