Porsche Crest Marble Grey

Is there some place you can see how many Pcars were painted a certain color during a certain production year?

Call Porsche...
1 (800) 767-7243

Or order a COA for every car in the VIN number range...

Im not sure that data is released. It may be harder for them to track it down for the older cars but they may be able to tell you for the new ones.

Regards
Dave

I have a friend that has this little, like 4"x6", book that contains all of that information.

I figured out my car in original trim is 1:278 in 1978

Depends on the MY - not easy on the early long hoods - only approximate numbers by color - as an approximate % of total production numbers

According to my COA my 85 Targa is marble grey. The paint to sample code on the front trunk sticker bears that out. Just trying to get an idea of how many are out there. I would ask the original owner, but he is no longer with us. Would a dealer order one in this color or would the first owner have to ordered it that way?

Marble Grey (Marmor Grau) paint code 673 (order codes A8A8 - Coupe or A8V9 - Targa or Cabrio) was one of six standard colors offered during the 1985 and 1986 model years on the 911 and 928 models. The six standard colors (all non metallic) were Black, Marble Grey, Pastel Beige, Guards Red, Dark Blue and Grand Prix White.

During a Factory visit during the spring of 1985 I happened to see three 911 models in Marble Grey sitting among a group of Grand Prix White 911s.

The three Marble Grey 911s each had a different color interior trim: Burgundy, Blue and Grey Green.

Jim, that's a beautiful Targa. I really like that color. My 75 wide body is about a week or two away from getting bare metal, Windows out, fenders off, engine bay and trunk area paint. I've got it down to either slate grey or GP white, now I look at this marble grey and I really like this too....You kind of get the best of both worlds, (grey/white). Thanks for making my decision harder...haha. Tim

Timchar,

I thought I would give you a view of a 1986 M491 Coupe n Marble Grey. Good luck with your decision.

Dave, thank you. Very nice looking wide body. I can't believe how I'm making this such a difficult decision. I recently sold a black 86 mainly because I didn't like the color. I pretty much was 50/50 with slate grey or GP white, then I see this thread on Marble grey. Now I'm even more confused. I've got a couple weeks to decide. Thanks again..Tim
