1978 Sport Seat - weight & shipping ideas

Hi guys. Anyone know how much one of these seats weigh? Any ideas on boxing and shipping?

Many thanks in advance for any insight on the matter.

Anyone want to convince me not to sell the original sport seats my car came with?

Def don't sell your seats if you ever plan on selling the car, that said.
I shipped a sport seat via fed ex at kinkos for 45$ each it went across the country too.

FedEx is probably best idea if they pack it. Otherwise where ya gona find a box that big? Then noodles? Shipped 2 from East Canada to Miami. $300. Think it was UPS. $45 rate cross country seems great. Weight... am guessing 42 lbs each.

Some day they could be worth a good deal.

I believe U-Haul sells a box that size; think its a wardrobe box and you'll cut it down to fit.
Greyhound for shipping if it doesn't need to go door to door.

Personally, I wouldn't sell them. It will make selling the car easier if & when you get there. They are fairly rare and getting rarer daily. You'll never get them back later for what you are selling them for now.

My sport seats were delivered from Montreal to my sisters store in Ottawa. (Thanks JJ for delivering them and Richard for selling them to me!) My brother in law an nephew did an awesome job of packing the seats in individual boxes.
I use the boxes to store the factory seats in at this time. I could measure them for you if you would like.

Many thanks for the info. I gonna check out the fed ex option...if I actually sell them. Your words currently have me looking at other stuff in my house to sell.

@billybek - thanks for the offer, but I'm leaning toward keeping right now.

I disassembled a set when I shipped them. They needed to be reupholstered anyway. From what I recall cost me about $100 to ship. Very large box.

Good idea! They are maybe not the lightest seats but they are really comfortable.
