3.2 oil pressure reading <1 bar at idle when cold

I haven't driven the car very much over the past six months, but everything was fine the last time I drove it. I started the car up this week and noticed the oil pressure gauge was barely above 1 bar. Also revving the car up to 3,000 rpm doesn't really change the pressure reading. It goes up a little bit, but never over 1.

I disconnected the sending unit wire and the gauge reads above 5 bar so I know the gauge is working. I replaced the oil pressure sending unit today and the reading is exactly the same...
The oil pressure warning light is off and the car doesn't sound like it has low oil pressure, but I can't be sure.

I'm not sure I can check the actual pressure at my house with my current set of tools.
Is there anything else I can do besides bring it in?

Can I check the oil pressure relieve valves or something?

Put an ice pick down into the connector between the plastic cover so you can tighten the wire on the pin of the pressure sender.
Make sure there is no green inside

When the connector broke on my sending unit wire, I just used a butt-splice connector. I crimped it to the wire, and then slid the other side onto the pin from the sender. It now works perfectly.

I forgot to mention I did check the wire and it was broken as well. I replaced it with a butt connector. I will double check my work on this part.
