Wiring cover - if it wasn't there before, then the shop's given you an early Christmas present.

It goes under the carpet

Blower cover, perhaps they removed and forgot to replace it. Did you have something done to your gauges or heater blower? Pull up your frunk center carpet or unsnap it next to the cowl and pull it away from cowl it covers the blower assembly and all the stuff you can get too from that area. Attaches with 4 bolts.

A $500 dollar piece of cardboard.

deputydog95 09-18-2016 12:47 PM

Is the cruise control under there by any chance?

That's the cover over the wiring and ventilation parts in the frunk.

Looks like sloppy work from the shop.

He did take my cruise control out and was planning on reinstalling when it came back. If the cruise box in under that panel, maybe that's why he left it out?

Outstanding!

The cruise computer is behind that panel - that's why it was left out. Pull the carpet back and you'll see a rectangular plug near the master cylinder.

+1 yes, CC module sits behind the panel.

Yours looks a little different (e.g. on driver's side no flap because you have d vacuum assist MC). HTH

Just curious, why do you call it a frunk? It is just a trunk. Do you call the rear trunk on a regular front engine car a Rrunk?

When I had a 914 it had a front trunk and a rear trunk.

Just curious.

That is a piece of junk. Send it to me and I will throw it away for you. I will even pay shipping.h

Had the cruise control module put back in today. I asked the shop about the panel. My tech was like, why put it back on if we're going to just pull it off again a few days later. He makes a good point :-)

It's the frunks mouse slide.

When installed properly it becomes their half pipe.

I too have a 914 and now call the front trunk the frunk and the rear one the trunk, which confuses the h#ll out of elephants and slow witted people.
