Where Are They Now??
Back some 15 or so years ago there was an outfit called "Performance Products" with a catalog full of great products for the Porsche enthusiast marketplace.
Have they completely disappeared from the scene, or morphed (or been absorbed) into some other company? |

Bought by Automotion, which was then bought by Eckler's. There used to be quite a few vendors like this (PB Tweeks, Electrodyne, AJ USA, etc.) that provided parts, but many are now just history.

I use to love thumbing through those catalogs, over and over.

Banned but not out, yet..

I don't know why you would go to their site, rather than supporting our host (trying not to be banned), but you can still order a "free" catalog. Probably good bathroom reading and if you run out of TP...

Pelican sells a reproduction of the original Porsche dead pedal.

There's a factory footrest you can use in your car. It's part number
901.501.825.00 Mark at Specialty Cars (he's speccar on this forum) offers them thru his shop or you can just type in the part number here at Pelican and they can source it for you Factory Dead Pedal Footrest » Specialty Cars Service Center, Inc.

When their retail store in Van Nuys CA began to cater to the rice rocket crowd I realized the end was near.
You used to be able to walk into the store and see 1000s of unique Porsche Products on display. The sales people also knew Porsches, but when the Toyota Truck Winches began to show up the party was over. The sales people didn't know the Porsche Products and were more interested in selling the aftermarket body kits for the rice rockets. I prefer a brick and mortar store over online, but now that Performance Products is gone, I'll stick with Wayne and Co.

I just ordered a part from Auto****on that Pelican doesn't carry- very small, but they charge shipping by dollar amount not actual, so many cases you'll get "hosed" on freight. Pelican has very good shipping rates.
I always go to Pelican first and am always happy with what I bought and what I was charged.

I recall one of the great things about Automotion (I forget the names of the founding couple - true Porsche enthusiasts) is that they "invented" products under their Weltmeister banner which were often quite innovative and worthwhile. Visited their Silicone Valley store often when I lived out that way.
