Piece identification
Hello;
Anyone knows what the purpose of the sort of reversed antenna between the 2 sunwisers? I though some previous owner installed this antenna as an aftermarket and I planned on deleting it; until i saw a friend 82' 911 targa with the exact same feature. After a bit of research I saw many G model targa with it. But couldn't find the piece in the PET. Thanks! |

That is the cabin temperature sensor for the auto-heat system. It is in the "Main Group 9: Electrical Equipment" section of the PET.

Mine has one of these (3.2 Carrera) It's a UK car so doesn't have A/C. Should it be there as I can't see it serving any purpose whatsoever.

All UK delivered SC and 3.2 coupes came equipped with autoheat and so it should be there. Without it, or if it is not working, you will only get full heat no matter were you set the heater dial between the seats to. Mark |

Cabin temp sensor.
I would leave that sensor alone as they have been NLA
for many years. If the unit fails, there is a thermistor replacement. Gerry
