whitey!!

Please say hello to my newly acquired girl: whitey!!

I have been talking with a local PCA buddy of mine for several years now about her. She had been sitting in a barn for years, and it was finally time.

1989 with just over 87K. While under a cover for all these years, she was still covered in a layer of dirt, and quite a bit of mold inside. I spent most of Friday cleaning her up. Not a deep cleaning, but just a quick going over. Deep, detail cleaning will come later.

Car has cleaned up well, and looks like it will be a good one. The electric top needs some attention to the switches/mechanism, but I was able to get it working pretty well.

Brakes are sticking on the driver's front, and passenger's read, so I am anticipating a complete overhaul there.

She'll need knew tires too, and the wheels will need a little attention.

The seats have taken 3 treatments of Obenhauf's and still dry out after about half an hour. So I'll keep putting it on until saturated.

I'll need to have the dash rebuild/restored, probably go with matching leather.

so, my buddy had just put a new top on, and a new cover when he parked the car way back when. And it shows too. It eccentuates the areas where a freaking mouse or something chewed thru it!! I hate to buy a new one, but I may have to if I can't find matching material to have this panel replaced.

and here is whitey sitting next to her older brother, booger!!

booger, while no 500hp fire breathing beast, is a 2300lb turbo'ed 3.2 backdated monster.

Good for you. Let it air out for a while, which is tough these days. Glad you got to it when you did.

Such a nice look.

Is the interior purple or just faded?

purple, I think it may be officially referred to as wine.

There are some spots on the vinyl that keep showing a little mold coming back. I'll keep cleaning with soap on those areas.

I've never been a cab fan, but the longer I spend with the car, the better looking it seems to be!

Thanks bob

Chris, how cool is that. Although I can't believe you scored a white cab here in town right under my nose! Look forward to seeing it.

Buy some Microban and spray it around to kill the mildew. Industrial stuff.
You may want to pull the fuel sender & see what the rust situation is in that tank.
Had to replace mine on the '88. Flushed fuel lines, replaced filter and injectors to bring it back to life...

Good looking car. I am a bit shaded since that is a topless version of my car. It looks like your interior is a darker more purple than my maroon interior but pretty close.
