911SC Cab Top Seal Replacement - What Am I Doing Wrong?
This seemingly simple task is driving me insane. I am replacing the side seals and vertical window seals on my 911SC cabriolet top. The LH side seal seems to fit fine, but the back edge catches on the frame when I lift the top and folds the rubber down, making me think that the seal is a little too long. When I fit the vertical window seal it gets worse, this seal also seems entirely too long and fits entirely too tightly in the corner where it meets the side seal. I tend to think that I need to trim back the beveled edge on the side seal, because the canvas covered vertical seal doesn't look trimmable. Am I missing something here?

If I remember when I replaced mine, there are dimples in the channel where the seals slide in. Bend them flat, lube the channel with glycerin and slide it in. Don't worry about scrunching them in. Re-dimple the channel so it doesn't slip out.
As an aside, I did mine 15 years ago and my sphincter still smarts from the price. What did you have to pay for the parts?

The problem isn't sliding the seal into the channel, it fits tight but with some liquid soap will slide in. The problem is that the point in the corner where they meet is way too tight. Guess I'll start carefully trimming the side seal and go from there.
I bought the aftermarket seals from our host and I think they were close to $600. Ouch is right.
