rebuilding steering rack?
Guys I am restoring my 911 and, would like to see if there is anyone out there that rebuilds steering racks? If not, perhaps there is a place for me to obtain a remanufactured one? I have no history/memory on how well mine operated - however, once in there as I have the entire suspension torn out I'd like to ensure that I go through this component thoroughly as well.
Thanks, Paul 1979 Carrera SC Targa

I know you have a 911, but there is a guy on 914World.com who manufacturers all kinds of 914 parts and offers a rebuild service for steering racks. The 914 and 911 rack are the same. Give this a look and reach out to him and see if he can handle your job. He does great work.

It's not that difficult to do by following the other posts here.. I just rebuilt mine and it seems okay (haven't road tested yet) as far as working on your car goes there are two LEVELS of difficulty (at least) and I think this one is on the easier part of the spectrum since you can remove the whole damn thing and rebuild it on your kitchen table or workbench, with computer screen information, good lighting, comfortable seat etc.
