'84 clutch pedal return

Ive noticed that my clutch pedal doesnt return upwards completely to line up with the brake pedal....and even noticed it on other 911's the same thing. What is the most common problem that the clutch pedal doesnt want to return all the way up the way it used to? The spring on the pedal seems to be fine...is it the other "C" shaped clutch spring located on the transmission case?

most likely it just needs adjustment. The pedal height is adjusted at the cable by the trans. But, if you are out of adjustment, then you will probably find the cable is old and stretched, the bushing at the clevis pin at the cluster is worn through. The cable is typical adjusted at the trans, but there is a few mm you can adjust at the clevis pin.

I just went through this, I am in the process of replacing the whole clutch system: New clutch kit, new omega spring, new cable, new clevis and pin, new pedal clutch shaft, new bushings in the pedal cluster. I probable should have replaced the clutch fork too when the trans was out, but didn't.

+1 cable adjustment and also rubber stop may be missing at the pedal cluster, remove for adjustment then replace when complete.
