I wouldn't bother. New Jersey doesn't have a requirement to have a label on the pump (about ethanol content). Lacking such information, you're depending on the attendants to know what they're talking about.

I live a few miles from there but don't see any other gas station there except BP before unless it has changed to a new one. Not sure if BP offers ethanol free over there but I have no idea. Too bad I'm out of the country until April 25 so I can check it.

Mild thread jack: I try to use the Pure Gas app to buy ethanol free 93 octane for my 911 and M3. It costs about 20 cents more a gallon here than Shell E10 93 octane.

How do we really know we are getting ethanol free gas?

Is there a test you can do at home? Send a sample to a lab? Don't worry about it, just bend over and pay your money?

Thanks. I already use the Pure Gas app; the field test is interesting, I may have to try that.

BMW mechanic at local BMW dealership told me that some of the local gas stations that advertise ethanol free gas actually have up to 20% ethanol, so who do you believe?

Pure Gas

I did the pure gas thing for about 8 fill-ups and through a DE last Nov. really hoping to notice a difference. With my car there was zero mpg improvement and nothing in the butt dyno felt. Always a pain to obtain and at least an extra 20 to 40 (or more) cents a gallon over reg. premium. I've bailed on the idea as much as I'd like to not support ethanol in fuel.

As I understand, it's less of a performance issue and more of a water in the fuel system issue. Porsche cars, especially with factory injection, are particularly sensitive. Marine Stabil is your friend, as well as frequent fuel filter changes.
No intention of starting an octane, volatility argument, just my opinion based on the knowledge of people far more experienced than I am.

Try a marina. I fill mine up at a local boat marina. They have a sign that says ethanol free gas. I hope it is true. They even check your car as they are not allowed to sell non classic/old cars this gas. This is due to normal gas in Florida having road taxes etc. built in. Must be an exemption for old cars an motorcycles. Cost more but its not my daily driver so who cares. Especially crucial if your old Porsche sits for a week or two sometimes like mine due to the ethanol condensation issues.

Once again, various branches of the Fed government are at odds. DOT pushes ethanol, FAA decries it. Granted, Porsches don't fly very high, but ............My bold edits in cites below:

Quote:
The FAA cites numerous reasons alcohol and airplanes do not mix. Alcohol:

Adversely affects the volatility of auto gasoline, which could cause vapor lock.
Is corrosive and not compatible with rubber seals and other materials used in aircraft, which could lead to fuel system deterioration and malfunction.
•Is subject to phase separation, which happens when the fuel cools as an aircraft climbs to higher altitudes. When the alcohol separates from the gasoline, it may carry water that has been held in solution and that cannot be handled by the sediment bowl.
Reduces the energy content of fuel. Methanol has approximately 55 percent of the energy content of gasoline, ethanol 73 percent. More alcohol equals reduced range.

It appears that there is indeed a gas station that provides ethanol-free gas in Rahway, NJ...if the link is currently updated.

[B]Pure-Gas.org is not showing any stations in New Jersey supplying Ethanol-free gas. I googled Rahway, NJ gasoline stations and couldn't find a station listed at 984 St.George's Avenue. This is probably spam or a typo. Keep looking for Ethanol-free gas to save your engine. There are plenty of stations supplying Ethanol-Free gas in Pennsylvania.

Funny the General Store in my town has it. Jericho Center C Store 25 Jericho Center Cir. I find it doesn't make a difference, but to each their own.
Own all kinds of fuel delivery systems in my ALFA's.
SPICA(Rules), Carbs, Bosch
I just look for 93 octane.
