Post Trade??

Hello!

Anybody want to trade their old 911 for a newer one? You’re in luck! I want to trade an 86 Carrera Coupe for an early 911. I’d prefer a 2.4E Targa, but will consider any 70 – 73 911, Coupe, Targa, T, E or S. Let me know what you have and let’s make a deal!

Email for more details and pictures.
bkolar@centuryeng.com

Thanks!
BK

I WOULD consider this sort of swap, but there are two problems

1) My ex-California car is in the UK, so two lots of shipping cost would make this a non-starter!
2) My wife would kill me (see likes the look of the early cars, and prefers the Targa

I would be tempted because an '86 would make a better daily driver, and I prefer a coupe for the UK weather. Of course, when push comes to shove, I bet I wouldn't be able to sell my old girl!

BK, you have got me thinking though!

...I offered (via email) my 68 Targa and even noted the "ultra rare" sporto tranny AND offered to throw in my white German Shepard but he has not gotten back to me.

Gentlemen!

WOW! I have received a LOT of replies and will respond to each one. Give me a little time, I do have to work occasionally throughout the day! I will post more info about the 86 after lunch. On your replies please indicate your location.

Thanks!
BK

BK didn't say he wanted to trade "straight across". I am sure he is going to want some bucks plus the older p-car.....

Bill does bring up a very interesting point. While I am willing to take a hit on the deal, I am not looking for a head on collision! The current market value says my car is worth 18 - 20k, but I wouldn't pay more than 17k for it. I've been offered 15k, which I am considering. If somebody were to tempt me with cash and prizes totaling 15k I would most likely accept.

The good:
-Guards red (very flashy!)
-All original except radio
-All records since 1987
-Dealer serviced up to and including 105k
-New tires and brakes (pads, rotors, lines)
-Rebuilt calipers
-16x6,7 Fuchs
-Runs, shifts and handles excellent
-Interior is in great condition
-New alternator

The bad:
-Guards red (very flashy!)
-Small wear spot on drivers seat
-Horrible radio reception
-Hood and mirror have some small stone chips
-Needs new oil return tubes
-AC doesn't work. New compressor but one line leaks.

The ugly:
-Guards red (very flashy!)
-Rust on passenger's door. About 1 sq in visible.

Overall an awesome daily driver or weekend cruiser. I bought this car for a street/track car and have since decided I want a street car and a track car, not one hybrid.

Somebody is going to get a lot of car for a little coin.

BK,
Damn, If only I had known, I would have gladly waited and purchased your car for $15K+!
O'well, good luck w/ the trade/sale.

Okay..............
I have had my 1973.5T on the board to trade up to an SC without much interest. I have owned a 1979SC and would prefer the 3.0 and the refinements over the older '73, but I have gotten fond of the character of this car. Here is what I have if anyone is interested:
Its Sepia Brown (new perfect paint)
Totally rebuilt engine: $7,000 in receipts
Miles on engine since rebuild...41K on chasis...132K. All upgrades on the rebuild.
Beautiful "S" trim on body, external oil cooler, koni shocks, "S" calipers, new dunlops, beautiful polished fuchs with painted center caps, factory AC, factory sunroof, tinted windows, new interior (dash, seats, carpet....beautiful!!! Sony CD in-dash, new battery, just aobut all new CIS components, NO RUST......perfect body. This would win the local PCA concours hands down.
Oh, tranny rebuilt with new synchros, new clutch and lots more............total restoration receipts around 33K......anyone interested in a trade?

Bob
