Has anyone ever seen these side view mirrors before? (found in a car i bought)

Hi there I bought a 1977 911s and these were sitting in the box in the car not installed, I searched the part number and all it came up with were the original flag mirrors. Are these one off's? Ive never seen them before.

Thanks!

Weird! Are they one piece?

They look a little like 959 mirrors, but not quite.

I wonder if someone grafted / fabricated a different mirror on to a 911 base?

Possibly, the lines on the mirrors look great if there was any work done to them.

Looks a lot like a 959 mirror.

i googled as well, and it looks like someone took the base off the flag mirror and modified it.

I just saw something similar on a former Kremer car, but they had a recess on the front side. "aeroscope"? edit- (not that similar on revisit)

I would hold off on selling. If they are 959 mirrors, that might mean hitting the jackpot for buying the 77. Is that a 82 time stamp on base, but another stamp 88?

It looks to me like someone grafted the top portion of a real 959 mirror with a base that fits a 911 door contour. I would pull the paint off the base up 2 inches to find if someone TIG'd them together.

its stamped 87 on one of them, I attached more pictures. Lets just for fun say they are off a 959, what would something like that even go for? Doubt there is reference to establish a price range on a part like that.

They arent, as the original 959s are two piece design, yours are one piece...

Maybe someone made a 959 replica mirror based on a OEM Mirror mount.

Dumb question. Can we see a pic of them mounted on the car?

It does look a lot like a 959 mirror. Maybe someone aspired to make the car into a 959 replica?

The reason the 959 mirrors are so different is to get the mirror high enough to see over the raised rear wheel arches and bridge spoiler
