Hey Wayne:
I love the color of the Porsche 959 !!! Did you finish-up your 959 and what color did you end with? Post a picture, please. SmileWavy |
This is exactly what you get when you tell an engineer "I want you to double the horsepower of the car."

I opened "my computer" window with thumbnails chosen as the view. I dragged (drug?) a picture from the "my computer" window to the "upload a photo..." window and my picture filled the "upload a photo..." window completely. Now what? All I see is my picture in the "upload a photo..." window. I know I must be missing something simple. Sorry I am computer illiterate. |

that worked for me pretty smartly...... Firefox.
|
Having not uploaded photos before, I had to figure out that from the "Quick Reply" box, click "Go Advanced"opening a larger "Reply to Thread" box. Under the box your typing into click "Click here to Upload a Photo". This opens a separate box which you drag your photo into. It worked fine from there.
I'm using Chrome |

^^^^ Then click upload. Then click on preview post to see if it worked.
|
There's nothing to click on .......just the photo....no buttons no nothing.
|
I just checked again and the message "I'm finished..close the window" pops up when the pic has been loaded. Does yours show that?
|
Ah poopoo, I will just do it like I have been Copy from Photobucket and paste ( PB auto links it )

what's the matter Jimbo, maybe i can finally help you out.... ? |
It doesn't work quite right with macOS Sierra & Safari.
When I click on the "Click here to Upload a Photo..." link, I get this screen. That's fine. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1480390774.png But most of the time, I scroll to bottom of the left pane in Finder and choose 'Photos' to access my photo library. Using this method, I can't select multiple pictures. If I hold down the Command key to select multiple images, it only lets me upload the first one I choose. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1480390774.png Edit: Actually the 2nd picture I dragged into the same upload appears to be a broken link. I can drag and drop multiple files into the window IF I know what directory the files are in and the filenames I want to upload. I saved these screen captures to the desktop and I tried it that way and it worked. The thing is that most of the time I had no idea what directory the pictures are in or their filenames. It's just sort of the photo management paradigm of macOS (and earlier versions of OS X). |
Looks like it works on Firefox...

I then tried again with Safari. I just uploaded 4 different pics and they seemed to work. I did get the spinning beach ball of doom for a while. I recently got the iPhone 7 Plus and and I've noticed that some of the higher res photos wouldn't upload using the old pic upload method. Maybe I'm hitting a file size limit or maybe the 2nd pic in my first try hadn't finished uploading? |
Test using Chrome Version 54.0.2840.98 (64-bit) on macOS Sierra. Works.

I use Firefox. Perhaps it's a file size issue that is jamming folks up. The pic i posted was 127kb

I increased the file size to 5mb. I also added in the "old upload method" to the bottom of the screen, so at least we're no worse off than we were yesterday. For now, this is the best that I can do. I can tell you first hand that for me, it now takes about 15 seconds to upload 10 photos, whereas before it took about 5-10 minutes!

Here are ten photos for example:

OK, I tried again. When I drag the file, it fills up the upload window. There is no longer a button in the window.
Here is what I see. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1480453620.jpg "Give me FILE MANAGER or give me death". |

Wayne,
Have you given any thought of pulling images from older threads from external hosts onto your domain? For example, a very well known suspension redo thread that continually gets referenced. If the photo hosting source ever went a away, it would destroy the value of the thread. Part of the value of this forum of the quality and depth of the archived threads. Maybe something to consider. Like identifying the top 100 threads, and somehow pulling all their photos to your server? Might be hard to justify the cost/benefit, but figured I'd throw it out there. |
