Reduce dual-out muffler noise...?

I was reading a thread several months back where someone had attached a link for some kind of muffler cap that you could install in one of the exhaust tips that would stay closed and muffle sound, but open up at WOT...
Does this product ring a bell for anyone?
My family is getting a little tired of all the noise, so this might be a good solution...
Thanks,
cw

I replaced the old B&B muffler with a new one last summer and it made a big difference. Absolutely no resonance. Very happy with a nice throaty sound. You would probably need B&B headers to make it work. The new muffle cost just over $800.

These quiet riot baffles seem to work well.

thanks Gregory. This is what I was hoping to do, but it is going onto a B&B muffler/pipe and I think the pipe unfortunately may be too dang'd fat. These only go to 2.5 OD pipe and (without measuring yet) it looks like my pipes are quite a bit bigger than that. I'll have to have a look when I get home tonight...
Thanks again,
cw

Excellent thought! I'll be left the same problem though RSTarga, i haven't seen ear plugs large enough to fit a tail pipe this large. Even if there were an ear plug large enough for this application, it probably wouldn't have the self sensing capability that the Quiet Riot system has to open and close that i am unfortunately looking for. Keep the good ideas comin' though!

What B&B did w/ their new mufflers was to leave a full size out let on the drivers side but only ~ 7/8" hole for the passenger side outlet, it certainly does reduce resonance induced drone,

A better way to go that doesn't hamper wot performance is what Dinan does for BMW mufflers

I have a M&K 2 in and 2 out and had baffles but the noise was still too loud so I made a circular plate with a bent tang on the end and drilled a hole in the passenger side pipe to attach the plate and now the sound is livable. Kinda defeats the purpose though having 2 in and 1 out like the stock unit but the baffles weren't cutting it for me but I didn't use quiet riot so don't know if they would have helped or not.

that leaves me with a problem opposite of that of the earplugs...i won't be able to find a new family small enough to fit in the tail pipe...
