Porsche Crest where can you get gas tank with inside filler cap?

I noticed there are cars with gas tanks that require you to fill up by raising front hood. This allows you to eliminate outside flap and fuel access piping. Anybody know where you get this type of tank?

Do they work with the fumes-mitigating, auto-shutoff nozzles found at most US gas stations? Sometimes with my '65 Austin Healey, and need to monkey with it to get it to pump.

What needs to be done for venting?

They do work, but putting the edge of the rubber spring loaded nozzle neck on the lip of the filler tube. By compressing this section, the gas flows fine. BUT since it is such a large tube, there is no shut off ! So pay attention ,looking down the neck, so you don't fill past where the center fill tube goes into the tank.

Venting: keep the original vent intact. We provide a small vent tube at the top of the neck , that can be attached to the current system

Not very practical on a street driven car, is it? Racers often install fuel cells of various types, and those often are installed with only an internal cap.

Every time I get gas, I go into the frunk to grab a rag to check my oil. I usually have to muck around with the nozzle and turn it sideways or upside down to get it to pump...It's a hassle no matter what. I'd rather fill a basic gas tank in the frunk than have a visible door on the fenders.

How it was done on our 66 VW CA surf bug. Didn't add any additional time. Besides, it turned fill ups into a public interest event.

If one want the convince of a stuff n go or doesn't like talking to people, then stick with something modern.

Those are not required in Texas any longer because new cars recover their own fumes.

I figured this would be the case nationwide.

Fascinating, I hadn't heard:

EPA to remove vapor-capturing rubber boot from gas pump handles - CNNPolitics.com

I guess it's just a question of when a station gets around to replacing a nozzle.
