Engine Noise
I just reinstalled the MFI on my 70E and went throught the pump timing procedure. I think I have it right since it runs, just haven't adjusted the MFI yet. But I now have a new noise: a high pitched squeal/chirp at about the frequency of the valve train.
It's not the fan belt right? That would be a constant squeal. Could it come from the cam belt to the MFI pump? If I'm off on the pump timing, would that cause the noise? Any help would be appreciated.

Could the belt be touching the tinware? Did you tension the belt to spec?

Could be either of the belts, you are just going to have to try and track down the noise. I doubt the pump timing, even if not set correctly would not have anything to do with the noise. Timing just controls when fuel is pumped thru the injectors.
