Carrera window adjustment comments?
My '87 Carrera cab seems to need a height adjustment of its drivers side window. It stops higher than it should, creating interference with the cab molding above the glass. I have to fuss several times with where it stops so that it seals properly without wind noise from it not being raised high enough.
I've read about adjusting it in various resources but wonder if there are any tips out there for getting it right the first (or second) time.

The height adjustment is fairly simple, but as you stated, you want to get it right before putting the door card back on. My tips are:
1. Disconnect battery. This will stop from blowing fuses when you disconnect the window switches. 2. Follow procedure in Bentley for door card removal. 3. Be sure to label the wires when you disconnect the switches. 4. Reconnect your switches and reconnect the battery. 5. Adjust height and test. Repeat as necessary until it's where you want it. 6. Disconnect battery again. 7. Disconnect window switches again. 8. Reinstall door car and switches. 9. Reconnect battery and you're done. |

When we recently adjusted the door windows on my Targa, we just had to adjust, check, adjust, check till we got it right. The adjustments on the stop are quite small and take a bit of patience to set correctly, but are not complicated. Check the height several time before reinstalling the door cards.
