Question 1984 930 VIN DECODE and History

Hi there, I am looking at a 1984 930, with the following Vin number:

WP0ZZZ93ZES050077

The owner, states that this is a special 930, that it is an 'S' model, and only 800 of them were ever made. I was wondering if some of you could help me on this matter, since I am not sure if this info is like that or not.

Can anyone give me some input on this one?

how many 930 were produced in 1984? were there any 930S by 1984?

thanks
Tony

I had similar questions about WPO zzz93zds000322 - supposed to be factory flatnose turbo
(it is no longer turbo - converted to 3.6) - but I wish I could find out more about this car original production details

GT3PTY, from my data that VIN (WP0ZZZ93ZES050077) looks like a standard Canadian spec 930 coupe.
The VIN tag on the A-pillar and in the door jamb most likely read WP0JA0935ES050077

Engine type 930.66, Transmission code 930.34
And a few options such as
- M220 locking diff, 40% (limited slip)
- M409 Sport seats

hotaru, your VIN WP0ZZZ93ZDS000322 looks like a standard 1983 German spec coupe, also with the following

Engine type 930.66, Transmission code 930.34
And a few options such as
- M220 locking diff, 40% (limited slip)
- M409 Sport seats

Hi...Interesting...

'And a few options such as
- M220 locking diff, 40% (limited slip)
- M409 Sport seats

When using WP0ZZZ93ZDS000322, how did you come to know that it had the above items -aka- options, other than those that were not standard items on this the car?

Thanks in advance!

I work for a dealer, I have a couple of resources to look up VIN specific data.
Basically the same info you would get on a COA.

If you want info on your VIN, send me an e-mail or pm.

jrbennett,
Thanks for info about my vin - i guess it was just a standard turbo
So if I would get COA - i would see the same thing? any idea what was the engine/trans original serial numbers?
someone did a conversion to 964 body style and put 3.6 engine quite some time ago - they probably never new how much original turbo would be in future

For the most part back in the day a lot of European turbos were pitched as being an S model or a special wishes car by the seller as part of the sales pitch but offered no documentation -people bought the story since you couldn't get them at your local franchised dealership.

For the original poster - according to Austin/Walter book, In 1984 there were 804 Turbos built for ROW and 77 for Canada. Your vin the last Canada spec car.
