Jegs carries them, and I've found another, cheaper vendor (Peerless Electronics?) when I searched on the web. I'm surprised they're not more widely distributed as this is the only aftermarket radio that looks correct in a Porsche (in my opinion). It doesn't have any preamp outputs, so I wonder how the sound quality holds up? In a Targa that's driven with the top off whenever possible, I wonder if it will be listenable (volume is probably more important than quality with my vintage hearing 😉). Any input would be appreciated.

Just chiming in; recently installed my Continental. Easy peasy, with just a little cleanup of the wiring. I didn't want to mess with finding and splicing into the illumination wire of the car, so I just bundled that wire with the 12v power wire. The radio is lit all the time, but it's dim, so don't notice in the day and looks great lit up all the time at night, even when off.
This wiring harness: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZGCYF0S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Radio was purchased from ebay.de. Cost me a like $10 more than a us supplier, I found out later. But it came padded with crumpled German-language newspaper, so I know the car feels more comfortable with it. It's the little things. And here it is, wide shot for context. Looks like it belongs there, eh? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1494216468.jpg |
