Red face 3M Imperial Hand Glaze - how to use?

Topic says it all really. I have a black car with plenty of fine scratches.

I tried using the Hand Glaze, and it seems fairly tricky to use.

How much do you rub it in? Do you let it dry before buffing it off - if so, does it dry completely? How long does that take?

My experience suggests it needs an awful lot of buffing compared to the Mothers equivalent I have used (the "Sealer and Gaze"). It seemed kind of "smeary".

I know I need to follow up with a wax.

Thanks!

I don't know specifically, but would direct you to the fine folks at Car Car Specialties for detailed (and from experience) instructions. (no affiliation, just a satisfied customer)

I also have a black car and also use the Imperial hand glaze. It's wonderfull! Took a long time and lots of products to get it right. Black is a hard(est) colour to keep nice.

After giving the paint a good clean and polish use the hand glaze to hide fine swirls. Actually to remove them. Use a 100% cotton towel. This is the most important step. Stick with made in Canada or U.S.A for trustworthy cotton. Asian stuff probably still has some nylon even though still says 100%. Work in straight line back and forth (same for polish above)in same direction air would pass over car. Rub verrry hard(don't be scared) with plenty of glaze on towel. Make absolutely sure your towel is clean. Many times back and forth. Then before it dries use another 100% cotton towel remove glaze and polish with same cloth.

Must follow with a quality wax. I use Blitz. I think alot of us hear use it too. Verrry easy to apply and lasts long. Don't wash car for a week after applying wax. Even if dirty. Wax will hold better.

Did the car 3 months ago and still can't see any swirls in paint. Loks like glass.
