EFI Conversion-need reference distance
Hi all,
I am into an EFI conversion on the SC. I am mounting the coils where the CDI/rear fusebox was. I need to build new plug wires, and I need the distance from that location to any point on the engine. I tried to approximate the distance, but I would prefer to have a better approximation. Engine is out of the car, on the test stand, which is what is making this difficult. The location of your coil pack is going to make for a long length to get to the 4,5,6 bank. Have you considered mounting the coils in a central location like back by the breather cover area or on another mount off the engine above and on center. This would make a pretty even split for the plug wires and the components would mostly be hidden.

No need to build your own coilpack to plug wire set if you order these:

Just last week I dropped 2.7 runners onto my 930 motor to see how to build fuel rails and a plenum. Happy to see I'm not the only one thinking about this arrangement.
Sorry Pat, no help on wire lengths |
Thanks anyway, guys. I have a fairly close approximation.
Jim2, I have the same SDS setup. I figured all along I would mount the coils where the CDI was, and the ECU in a box on the rear seat area. I had Ross make up the harnesses to those lengths, so I am sort of stuck with what I have. |
