"Anybody got any 6-inch spacers I can use to fill out those rear fenders?"

He he. It does look kind of goofy at the moment.

JeremyD 01-23-2003 05:55 AM

Looks like a fat girl in a short skirt...

rcwaldo 01-23-2003 06:25 AM

Jack, is that a cup-holder I see you had installed? I see a drink bottle on the right side of the dash. WOW. a race car with a cup-holder.

Seriously, looks great!

Turn the camera someone!!! I saw him jack the car up, but can't see what's going on!!

work sucks today, I figured I'd watch a little TV.

KevinP73 01-24-2003 08:41 AM

BB2 is going to spend the day getting some TAIL (s) !!!

atlporsche 01-24-2003 08:44 AM

I see that now!!!

sjd

arcsine 01-24-2003 08:44 AM

Jack, I don't think you need six inch spacers, just do a dual set of 6 inch wheels. Now that would be interesting to see.

atlporsche 01-24-2003 09:48 AM

how many tails do you have, jack???

are they going to be quick release, just in case you need a different amount of downforce for the ride to work that day??

sjd

JeremyD 01-24-2003 10:49 AM

I think everybody knows that answer - you can never have too much tail...

Jack Olsen 01-24-2003 10:51 AM

Only five tails. I had six, but I sold the Turbo tail.

Owning six tails is crazy.

And I'm not getting the stock one painted, so you'll only see four:

964 retractable
Ducktail
IROC
3.8RS with monster wing

atlporsche 01-24-2003 10:54 AM

that's what I counted...

You've been singlehandedly responsible for me being 100% unproductive this afternoon...

hee hee...

Singlehandedly !!?? Shame on you Jack.

k9handler 01-24-2003 12:03 PM

whatcha doing Kevin? Primer the front suspension pan?

KevinP73 01-24-2003 12:31 PM

A little etching primer to help the new paint stick and then base coat with some paint left from BB1. Then the new paint over that, as soon as that dries it'll get a shot of clear, then BAM Beautiful at last.

Jack Olsen 01-24-2003 12:34 PM

The artist in his studio:

KevinP73 01-24-2003 01:02 PM

"The Artist"...how kind of you. As opposed to being in my "studio" I think I'd feel more at home in a coffin !! I've got a fever of 101.3, I can't get my eye's to focus to read the numbers on the mixing cup and everytime I bend over I have to fight the urge to toss my cookies.
I need a NURSE !! A sweet red headed nurse with some home made chicken soup !! OK forget the chicken soup, just the nurse will do.

And he's working on your car Jack.

Hope you feel better. Wouldn't want you to be called the “Artist formerly known as Kevin.” ;)

john_colasante 01-24-2003 01:07 PM

[Kevin] (sobbing) But I've got a fever...I just need a little... rest......
[Jack] (with whip) Work dammit! *WHIP* I'm producing an Internet video here! *WHIP*
[Kevin] whaa!

Jack Olsen 01-24-2003 01:13 PM

Sorry to hear about the fever. How about I send twins?

Adam 01-24-2003 01:14 PM

Kevin, if you're going to puke... do it on screen! :D *yech* Think of the ratings!

Nah, just kidding. If you need a break, just tell Jack we said it was OK. ;)

KevinP73 01-24-2003 01:24 PM

Those aren't red heads !! Jeesh

Jack Olsen 01-24-2003 01:28 PM

Some guys are never satisfied.

KevinP73 01-24-2003 01:34 PM

The really fun part of the day that you'd have to be here to enjoy is my neighbor's girlfriend or wife or what ever she is has been tearing him a new a$$ for over an hour. She hasn't shut up !! I can hear her over the compressor. Now I remember why I'm single. Course if any of my past g/f's had the "attributes" this girl has, maybe I'd put up with a little screaming once in a while.

Jack Olsen 01-24-2003 04:16 PM

Looks like Kevin's got it almost ready for the booth:

And, for a point of reference, here's the same thing getting done back in the day:

YTNUKLR 01-24-2003 05:45 PM

Jack, do you have any more of those old factory photos and the like? I'd love to see them if it wouldn't be too much trouble. Also, could you send them to my email so that they stay "full size"?

Thanks,

Jack Olsen 01-24-2003 06:38 PM

I'm afraid I don't, Scott. I got a scanner today, and scanned that from the Carrera RS book.

k9handler 01-25-2003 01:45 AM

ok...Kevin are you going to watch the superbowl?
The reason I am asking is I would rather watch the BB2 project than the Raiders! Instead of the silver and black, I want to watch the primer and black! ha ha...

Jeremy Cottrell 01-25-2003 05:05 PM

Kevin, you are the Osbournes of the Pelican Board

pwd72s 01-25-2003 05:13 PM

WOW! I feel sorry for those of you too young to have watched a real stripper work (as opposed to today's nude dancing bars, stripping, back in the 50's and 60's was a true art form)...but this thread is like watching a great stripper...only in reverse.

Jack Olsen 01-25-2003 05:18 PM

Agreed, but a real strip show costs less. ;)

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/Kevin023a.jpg

Edit: fixed my garbled grammar.

Isn't that the truth? No doormen, no door charge, no "two drink minimum" in those days. On the other hand, I never emerged from an old fashioned strip club to jump in a car like Jack is building...not at all. Still, I feel sorry for people too young to have ever seeen a real strip act. Like Vaudeville, those days are gone...

At the risk of sounding really stupid........I might need some explaining on this one. It might help if I had caught an episode or two, but I just didn't see the value in that show.

Tyson Schmidt 01-25-2003 08:19 PM

I think Jeremy simply meant that people can't get enough of your webcam. Just like they couldn't stop watching "The Osbournes."

Don't worry, your English is perfectly enunciated, Kevin. ;)

82SC 01-25-2003 08:26 PM

kinda funny strippers came up...

when I went to kevin's shop for the first time...lo and behold...what was next door?

Spirimint Rhino...LA's most famous chain of strip clubs...

now I know why kevin loves to be at the shop...

BTW hurry and get the black beast out...so my car can take center stage!!!! ;) ;) :D ;) ;)

Dave B mentioned he loved the color as well...I can't wait

MJ

Tyson Schmidt 01-25-2003 08:35 PM

Hey M.J, was that your orange license panel in Kevin's office? If so, I just saw it tonight when I stopped by to check out BB2. (Which looks friggin' awesome BTW. Nice work Kevin!)

That color orange is pretty sweet! I think you'll be very happy with the car when it's done.

82SC 01-25-2003 09:24 PM

yeah kevin has some tricks up his sleeve...

looks sweet

MJ

Jack Olsen 01-25-2003 09:39 PM

Kevin is freakin' awesome.

nostatic 01-25-2003 10:03 PM
