You're enjoying this aren't you Jack!!!

Looks like she's coming on a treat, have you got an ETA on the finished product yet?

Cheers

What kind of gun is he using that it allows him to be able to shoot outside of the booth? Project looks great btw.
Joe

I'm using my SATA . AQMD allows me to shoot a limited amount of primer (water based) outside of the booth. I'm working in front of a work station with a filtered vent system running. When it comes time to shoot the final color I'll have the car in the booth (or I'll turn the camera off!!).

Kevin
Didnt mean to come across as the paint police ;-). Just wondering how you kept the overspray down.
Joe

KevinP73 01-17-2003 02:59 PM

with the HVLP gun, low air pressure (29lbs) and the workstation vent running, overspray is kept to a minimum. but anything of real value is either covered or taken outside during primer.

And so the obvious implication relative to the 914 is?

(just kiddin' around)

I love watching, and wish I could bring my car to you, Kevin.

kevin, you guys are fast....not to many people can acomplish what has been done to jacks car in this kind of time frame. i would hate to know what your bill is going to be but it will be sweet forsure!

Jack, it's not too late to change you mind about the color.

I'd say, paint it Speed Yellow, Ferrari Fly Yellow or Orange. Just like Orange Crate of the mid sixties.

Hope Kev dosen't smear the paint!

The 914 is setting on a jet ski stand and a couple of saw horses. Far too difficult to move !! Besides it's in the early stages of construction. I really should have covered it though.

One's replacing the other. The pretty one one the right got, well, dented at Laguna Seca.

nick-moss 01-20-2003 09:59 AM

Well it seems you got as many condolences as Princess Diana, but your car was prettier. It has inspired me to build up a '70 E that I am negociating on at the moment.

BTW the crash page is not there anymore

bender (the server) is pretty ill right now, as am I (damn flu). I will be in tomorrow and swap over to another machine.

Much like BB2, bender2 will be better than ever...although it will have the same name.

Sarah 01-20-2003 01:13 PM

wow...it's really coming along nicely!

Jack Olsen 01-20-2003 02:09 PM

Of course, there's a lot of sanding involved.
