Have I connected my alternator correctly??
Hello all,
My alternator died so I removed it and went to have it rebuilt. The guy at the alternator shop had a rebuilt Paris-Rhone alternator which he said was correct for my year car (1984) vs the Valeo alternator that I had. He swapped me out for my core. I took pictures of the back of my alternator when I removed it but the posts on this one are slightly different. I called the alternator guy back and he said the largest post is the battery, next largest is the ground and the smallest is the blue wire for the indicator. Following those directions I wired it like this, is this correct? ![]()

This is my '86 Paris Rhone alternator. As near as I can tell from your photo, it appears you have wired it correctly.

Thanks for the help! I did double check it and went ahead and buttoned it up. The car fired, alternator light is on and I have over 14 volts at the battery with the car at idle so I think I am good.
