First Porsche (Project) '75 911 Carrera Targa with 930 motor

Well finally purchased my first Porsche. Been saving for a little while and although this wasn't exactly what I planned to buy I'm happy with the purchase.

It's going to be a project but it's a blast to drive. I'll post my progress

Thanks. Here are some before and after pics of the interior after I cleaned the carpets and installed the new steering wheel.

Do you also have the 930 four speed tranny?

Damn. I'm jealous. Pretty much exactly what I would want but in a different color. Wanna trade for a 74 coupe with NA 3.2?

You're not ready for turbo powaaa, son!!!

To the OP, I see that your car has an old-school, probably dealer installed a/c system (or maybe Retroair?) that has been fitted with a more modern compressor and no tail condenser is in place - am curious as to how many condensers in the system and where're they're located. Nice looking car, too!

Nice eyeballing RAWman. Am likewise curious about condenso config. Sleeper... way to go Brian. Great cleanup.

Thanks for all the comments.

Rawknees'Turbo
I have little history on the car but it appears to be a factory a/c upgrade with a different condenser or a complete aftermarket system. There is a underbelly condenser mounted under the car to the pan (i'll post a pic when I get home). Before I bought the car I was able to find someone on here with a similar set up but not sure what company made the kit.

The system works but I want to get new custom lines made before I use it more as the lines to the compressor are being held on by hose clamps. Not sure what they were thinking.

I has the original '75 915 transmission. I have to baby it going into 3rd but I plan to rebuild/upgrade it at some point to handle the power.

I would look for a four speed. I don't think you can beef up a 915 to handle that engine.

Or you can drive it 'judiciously'.

A stereo wasn't on my list of priorities but I wanted something and needed to correct the bad XM install that was done by PO.

This is what I found in the dash. Not sure what people are thinking sometimes.

The new stereo wiring.

It certainly seems this car got very luck as you obviously have good taste and talent. Very nice.

You did an awesome job on the carpet! what did you use to clean it up? Steam? Bissel?

My 87 3.2 red carpet would love that treatment.

Thanks,
Mark

Dubbin'

I used resolve, warm water, soft bristle bush, vacuum, and elbow grease. I tested it under the seat before using it everywhere else. I don't think it had been cleaned in quite some time. I also did the seats in Lexol cleaner and conditioner.
