Porsche Crest Body shop recommendations in Los Angeles area?

I apologize for being a water head posting here but you folks have a much larger group so maybe you could help a Porsche brother out.

I know, I know....
I keep going on about selling my car and now I'm asking about painting it!
Write this post off as one of my Saturday rants.
Yes I am a sicko, even if I sell the car I still want to see it in top shape!
Anyway... I don't want a full paint job BUT
1. The hood is rock chip mania plus other defects (my bad and others), needs full strip and repaint.
2. Passenger side door is door ding haven needs sanding and paint.
3. Driver side rear fender minor dents, looks like some idiot kneed the car, hopefully can be knocked out and no paint.
4. Approximately 1" x 4" long ding under passenger side tail light, need to be pulled out (that part of the body is a sealed tube) looks like a PITA but I'm no bodyshop man.

My plan is to defer the cost by breaking it down to three of four trips to the body shop.
I know that any shop I take it to and many of you are going tell me to get a full respray but I don't have a few grand to drop right now.
There are also at least two great body shops in San Pedro however if someone knows a small shop that does good work for reasonable prices not too far away I'm interested.
Emphasis on good work I don't want a hack job and DIY is not and option.

TIA

No offense intended, but couldn't you just push that one off of a cliff and buy a perfect 1984 944 for less than the cost of all that body/paint work? Sometimes it just doesn't make sense, but hey, I flunked math too. Story of my life.

Gee thanks, wonder why some 911 guys have a rep for having a bad attitude.

Send an email to KevinP73, who's a poster on this board. His shop (on Oxnard, near the 405) is currently painting my 911.

But Denis' point is well made. It's hard to get the dollars back from cosmetic improvements on a Porsche under the best of circumstances, and 944's don't normally hold onto a whole lot of value.

I don't know any around Long Beach area, but my body guy is off the 405 and Venice Blvd. He does incredible work for a very reasonable price and he mostly works on Porsches, Ferraris, etc.

Talk to Raj and tell him Michael with the yellow 1975 sent you and I'm sure he'll give you a good deal.

Good luck!

Thumbs up

Thanks guys,
I suppose I should have prefaced my post by stating that I know the 944 is not worth much and I bought the car as hobby project knowing that I would drop much more into restoring it than I would ever be able to sell it for.

I'm sorry, scottmandue, I should have phrased that differently. Didn't mean to put down your machine specifically, but if you are trying to sell it I would just keep lowering the price until it disappears, and for Pete's sake don't sink any $$ into it. (Who is 'Pete' anyways?)

I am trying to sell a car right now that would normally be worth $2-3000, (at least a year ago it would have), I can hardly GIVE the thing away. Something wierd going on w/ used car market right now. I'm thinking that a 1984 944 is about a ~$2,000 car, and there is, let's just say a healthy supply of them in proportion to demand. Some guy down the street probably has a clean one for sale for less $$, and it doesn't have half of a new paint job. (Never a good selling point, on any car).

And BTW, I was the same smart-ass before I bought this old used Porsche, car has nothing to do with it. Take care,
