3.2L Power

Took my clone out today for a bit of run. Had not been out for 3 to 4 weeks. Always great to get behind the wheel and have at it.

Trouble is, at 3400, the power just went flat until around 4000 then back on the curve. Sound was just a bit off. Just like someone through an anchor out behind the car. it cruises just fine. Sounds great, but foot down at full throttle and as said at about 3400, bogs down. Fouled plugs? Valve float? Bad gas? Clutch going away?

it is a bone stock 3.2 with a g50, limited slip, PCNA clutch (which is chattering) in a 69 tub. Any thoughts are appreciated.

You don't say what kind of induction you have. Is it Motronic or carbs?
(A plug problem should get worse at full throttle the higher you rev it.)

If it is Motronic I would wonder if you have a less then wonderful non stock chip or maybe the track in the barn door AFM needs to be re-arced.

There is a "dip" in that rpm area - but should not be as noticeable as you are indicating.

bone stock fuel injection. Pretty sure the controller is as factory, but that could be an issue. Sound really changed briefly at the bog point. Once it got it's breath back it almost sounded like a turbo. Sort of high pitched air

Don't know. Will run it again tomorrow and see what happens. Scottsdale cops were all over north Scottsdale today
