I have an 88 turbo cab that gets driven roughly 3,250 miles per year. Yes, I know these cars are made to be driven. However, I live way north and we can have snow on the ground as early as November and as late as April. I choose not to subject my car to the salt and sand of winter. I also live 1.5 miles from work. No reason to drive the car to work when it won't get properly warmed up just so it can bake in the sun all day. Oh yes, I had a question. I change my oil once per year with Mobil 1 synthetic oil. I know I can go longer between oil changes, at least that is what my manual says. Also, synthetic oil doesn't need to be changed quite as often. Realizing this, I still change the oil roughy every 3250 miles. Do any of you know if it is bad for a car to only change your oil once per year, even if you only put 3250 miles on the car? If it helps, most of the miles are on the highway with some coming at DE events.

Changing your oil every 3000 is a good idea as long as you have my address so you could ship me the old stuff. I figure it still has another 27000 miles left.
I worked out a deal with my brother that I would change his Mobil 1 for free every 3000 and I'll never have to pay for it again! Joe [This message has been edited by stlrj (edited 10-22-2001).] |

I change mine every 2500-3000 or when I store it away for winter, whichever comes first.
