Valvoline VR-1!!!! It will be back!!!

I just called the contact number on the Valvoline.com website and talked to a product guy . He told me that VR-1 is being re labeled on their containers right now and will be back in the California market very soon. He said some stores already have some in stock. He also told me that the oil will be the same exact formula as before. Will be called the very same also. Good news!!!

Did you happen to get the guy's name and title?

No I did not. But I did call Valvoline contacts and was transferred to oil products and talked to the guy for a while and believed him. If it is not true then we just have to find another oil.

The local Menard's has VR-1 Racing oil for $4.99/qt. The rack above the display had multiple cases.
They also have an 11% rebate going on all purchases....which brings it down further yet.

I don't understand this thread. It's on the shelves in my local stores and also available for Prime shipping from Amazon.

It was apparently pulled from the shelves in California for some reason. Looks like it is slated to return there. The rest of the country never experienced this.

A better question ... What isnt pulled from the shelves in CA. Seems like anything that might upset the local snowflake is either banned or outlawed. I like VR-1. Use it in my cobra. Great oil.

It's been pulled from Autozone's in NYC, at least the 3 or 4 that I've visited looking for it.

My Autozone here in MA is also out of it, but last month the manager told me it was because they were clearing out the old bottles to make room for the new packaging.

I wasn't sure whether to believe him, but sounds consistent with what Valvoline told Nick.

I spoke with a parts guy at my local NAPA and he also stated it will be back shortly. Even said he had some in stock. Stated it was a "labeling issue".
I also asked at my local AutoZone and O'Reilly and they had no clue it was even gone.
Bill.

I wish this were true.... I've tried a few times; the VR1 will add to the cart fine but I get an error stating there is a problem shipping to my address... (California)

I hope it comes back so I don't have to switch to BP!

That is strange. It just now let me order a case of 6...$33.69 I deleted the order after they told me it would arrive on Thurs.
Some reason why they won't ship to CA??

I live a few miles from a small dirt track and the parts stores near the track keep VR-1 in 5 qt. Saves me $$$ and lots of empty quart bottles. No love for the condo dwellers that complain about the dirt track noise on Saturdays & holidays. Track was there first!!! I have a source for VR1 5 qt and that is nice.

Local guy works at a FLAPS, said that they emptied inventory of VR-1 for a bit but just got this back on the shelves:

You can see the packaging difference...I presume this is what Cali wanted done.
