Dreaming of spring

Just thought Id throw up a few pics I found from last spring at Thunderhill.
All that green grass and driving is getting me itchy for the season to start up.
Ive been so busy I did'nt even have time to get the car painted,so I guess it will be fresh tires and a tune up mmmmmmmmmm cant wait.

Best to all,
Thomas

So where's the pics. Oh and you live in CA and you are dreaming of spring. Try living where it gets cold and snows! Course those Dunlop Winter Sports I put on makes even the snow fun!

Kurt,
Well,I guess youre right, no snow here...
Cant complain to much, what with "winter" meaning 53 degrees and a 60% chance of rain.

But no racing either!

Thomas.

Laying on the creeper under my car just humming to myself and looking around.

Don't ask.

I'm lousy at Thunderhill. I should be turning 2:08's, and I do 2:13's. One of these days I've got to actually learn what I'm doing, there.

Fun track, though. I'm planning on doing it CW March 28th.

OH yeah ,
For those interested you can indeed stuff
225/50/15 kumho (or hoosiers) tires under the rear of a pre 73 narrow body....Just...shoe horn not included.
The not so nice looking rims are from Revolution with 50mm offsets (911 R rims had 49mm)
They are about 1.75 lbs heavy than Fuchs and
about 5 lbs uglier, but hey rubber is rubber
and the more the better the way I drive.

A little off the topic...
Is that Caddilac comercial filmed at thunderhill? The one where one car is going around the track in opposite dirrection of the other cars? It seems like it looks familiar to the in car footage of Jack Olsen and or Thom. Just wondering....

Jack,
CW is a gas,I dig it,although Im about 1.5 sec. slower. The back kink is fun the way it transforms into an actual turn.
5 and 5a is quite a pucker for me, but 3 is alot more fun.
I run 2:14 pretty often,Best un-posted is a 12.7
What event are you going for?

Joe,
Yep thats TH.
I was drinking beers with some turn workers that worked that gig. They had a blast, said the caddy people were real nice.
You get the best stories from safety/ turn workers.

Nor Cal Racing runs the event on the 28th. You should come -- go for a ride with me in the newer version of my car. I need somebody to tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Thomas,
Thanks for confirming that. I feel like I have been on that track before even though I have never been to California ;-)

Jack,
A balance of "Aggression and Discretion"
Thats my mantra for racing.
With my car (207 hp and no torque to speak of)
Ive learned that TH really rewards momentum
and exit speed (what track doesnt huh?)
The places Ive made up the most time is 12/13
and 3 (discretion) 1 and 9 (aggression)
Im actually doing an instuctor tryout in the spring for PCA TT so maybe Ill run up and see you.
They let you take riders?

Best,
Thomas

Yes, they allow passengers. And yes, I need good instruction on that track. I've only been there for track days twice, and it's going to be used in each direction in April's Open Track Challenge.
