Lost in parking light/turn signal wiring, help!

Howdy Pelicans,

Firstly, let me start by saying that I'm an electrical dullard. I can do a lot of things but electrical is just not one of them. What can I say, I just have a hard time wrapping my head around the basics.

Anyhow, in the process of disassembling the bumper and all associated guts, I decided to detail all the components and possibly find out why my # 9 fuse kept on blowing and why the front driver's side signal flashed dimly.

Here's what I found. Someone has been busy in there fixing things.

Where does this plug go? I can't find a male end?

Now this is the real ***** show. One of the lens screw was loose and water came in and ravaged this homemade repair job. Also, you'll notice that one of the plugs was broken off at the housing. After looking, it looks like it leads to nowhere... what are my options here? Buy a full assy?

Thanks all!

Brown is ground in first photo.
Judging by condition of second photo I would suspect the ground tab was broken off by a PO.
Find a good used set or go all new.

I am surprised the photo is not blurry.

you have a white wire blending in with the brown all hidden by the connector in the foreground.
the connector on the white wore or the brown wire
how about a better pic

Yes, brown is ground wire. It wants to connect to the bulb housing. Probably the tab is broken off. But this is why dim light and blown fuse.

Get a volt meter or test light. Check to see if the power lead is getting power after replacing the fuse.
If you find that the power wire has 12v when connecting the alligator clip to the power lead and grounding the tester. Check if the bulb is good.

Renew the ground wire find a good source of ground and use an eyelet and self tapping screw. You should be good to go. You just passed electrical 101.

The ground location is on the pot metal piece. If memory serves, this is it:

His pic doesn't show that side where the male connection for ground is but one could assume it is missing or broken off. Hence my suggestion for an eyelet and a self tapping screw.
