Oil hard line thread and size - are they the same on both lines?
I am replacing the front trombone cooler on my SC with a Setrab cooler up front under the valance, and have a slight problem!
The connection between the trombone cooler and the hard lines was so corroded I had to cut the nuts off with the Dremel. I have one Carrera outer flex line to cooler line here that I was going to use the connectors from to make the new lines to the Setrab cooler. This is the line I have. I can easily fit it onto one of the oil hard lines, but it will not fit the other one. Can someone please confirm if the thread size is the same on both hard oil lines or not? If they are then I must have damaged the thread trying to remove the trombone cooler from the line...

![]() ![]() The thread size is M30x1.5 on all factory original oil lines since 1972. I have solder nipples available if needed. Len ![]() |

Thank you Len...
Then I have managed to damage the thread or pipe on the one hard line. Actually on closer inspection, it looks like I have managed to compress the pipe in some way, so the threaded section is no longer round ![]() I will have to consider my options here - I have seen a car with the flex lines from the cooler installed onto the hard lines with clamps rather than a threaded attachment. This might be an option?

Heat the threaded section that is "not round" and re-shape it with a vice or big pliers. It's worth a try.
