aluminum soft socket from Stoddard's here. But have to admit, that snap-on socket looks nice. Should my stoddard's socket fail, think I'll call the local snap-on man.

No wonder there are so many new borns in Sept, Oct up there!

Yo Wayne....can we send this to the Concour Weenie Section? If we don't have one....we should.... |
:( Sorry, mikez. I'll try to stay more on topic here. I have in fact gleaned some good info here and really appreciate it.
By the way, my 930 will probably never be in concours condition, but it runs like a bat out of hell! So does it hurt? Polishing your nuts with a wire wheel?:D |
i bought a soft socket for my lugnuts. i use it on my concourse car to keep scratches to a minimum. it seems to work just fine. i think it is made out of teflon, not plastic.

I used my new all metal Soft Socket yesterday for the first time, worked very well on the new lug nuts, no scratches. My 6-point deep socket scratched the daylights out of my old nuts and I won't be using it again.

I went to Sears last night and ended up buying the 1/2 drive 19mm 6-point impact socket. The impact socket had a much better internal finish that won't trash the lug nuts. Nealy all the standard sockets had very rough internal finishes, some of them were sharp enough that you could cut yourself with. total price? 10.50. not too shabby. Kyle.

After buying two sets of new Alu lugnuts, I went to steel. Bombproof.
Another advantage of the BBS wheels - lugnuts hidden under the centercaps! |
