Anyone use a diffrent design Window switch?
I have OEM. To me it seems the design is not robust. By that I mean the toggle switch itself, the movement that is there other than up and down. I noticed that 924/44/68 cars use a simple rocker switch. Seems to me that would not have the same issues as our 911 switch. Has anyone replaced the 911 switch with a different unit completely?
I know I started an earlier thread but I could not work out how to change the name to better describe the information I was really looking for. |
The 924 et. al. use VW/Audi switches... they are Audis.
See your other post on the same exact topic. |
there were some old threads about 80's BMW switches, nice design, push-button for up/down, used similar spade connectors, and almost the same size, slightly larger, so some minor modification to the door panels required.

Check out your other thread, we posted some suggestions there.

The switches from the revised interior are also used in the 928, 964 and 993. (However the window switches are not shared - with the exception of one rare 993/996 model). As for if the window switches are better or stronger, I can't say. However they are not plug and play. Most modern window switches seem to be fairly robust, however are usually meant for mounting on a horizontal plane (armrest) and would be awkward on a vertical panel. |
