Anyone use a diffrent design Window switch?

I have OEM. To me it seems the design is not robust. By that I mean the toggle switch itself, the movement that is there other than up and down. I noticed that 924/44/68 cars use a simple rocker switch. Seems to me that would not have the same issues as our 911 switch. Has anyone replaced the 911 switch with a different unit completely?

I know I started an earlier thread but I could not work out how to change the name to better describe the information I was really looking for.

The 924 et. al. use VW/Audi switches... they are Audis.

See your other post on the same exact topic.

there were some old threads about 80's BMW switches, nice design, push-button for up/down, used similar spade connectors, and almost the same size, slightly larger, so some minor modification to the door panels required.

Actually, the 924/44/68 use Porsche-designed switches. The internals may be VW parts, but the cosmetic switch is not a VW/Audi piece.

The switches from the revised interior are also used in the 928, 964 and 993. (However the window switches are not shared - with the exception of one rare 993/996 model).

As for if the window switches are better or stronger, I can't say. However they are not plug and play.

Most modern window switches seem to be fairly robust, however are usually meant for mounting on a horizontal plane (armrest) and would be awkward on a vertical panel.
