Vintage Key Fob 911

Does anyone know what the proper Porsche vintage key fobs are?

I couldn't find anything, however this showed up on Etsy so I bought it. It's cool, but I'm not certain how it compares to the original early 911 key fobs.

Pretty, pretty proper. Fob and key holder all-in-one. From the 70s.

More precisely. What year range would that one cover.

Ha, Austin Powers wouldn't drive a Porsche. He'd drive a Mini, a Jag, or an Aston Martin!

The one shown by RSbob is definitely correct for 1970. I had one just like it with my 914's. I still use a keybcase like, minus the Porsche crest. Original is long since worn out.

I still have another interesting little trinket from that era; I don't know if it's "global" or a local dealer thing. (That would be Art Bunker Porsche+Audi in K.C. in those days.). It is a matte back dash plaque with the Porsche crest on the left side and my name engraved on it. I still have it, it's currently on my SC.

I just looked the keycase(s) up on eBay. Going price seems to be north of $200, in some cases far North! I don't think I need a vintage one that bad! But it could be worse; there was a vintage 356 fob with an asking price of 10X that!

Last edited by Steam Driver; 03-24-2017 at 05:35 AM.. Reason: Add comment about current prices of the cases.

seems the OP's key fob may be touting the fact that it's made of "vintage porsche houndstooth" seat fabric, rather than being a vintage porsche keyring --

Steam Driver- I have a question about the Porsche name badge. Where were they placed? I have my dads name badge, also bought new from Art Bunker, and want to place it in my 911 to honor my dad, who is now gone but was the to get me addicted to all things 911. If I remember correctly his was on the center tunnel somewhere. Attached on carpet?

Thanks
