Restart is Imminent!!!

Hello All....

Ready to get the girl off the jackstands and on the road...thinking about turning the engine over to lubricate it/build oil pressure without starting.....

Is the easiest solution to pull the fuel pump fuse? I'll be in the compartment taking the battery tender off....

TIA

Neil

Disconnect the ignition. Or pull the plugs.

I like to pull power from the fuel pump (to keep unburnt fuel from washing oil from the cylinders), and cranking it with the plugs removed to build oil pressure with as close to zero load as possible.

On a Motronic car you just disconnect the reference sensor and as far as the whole system is concerned the engine isn't spinning.
Once you have oil pressure you can reconnect it and you are off and running.
