Nice!

What's the weight of old versus new on the dash?

Yea, it really wasn't driven so much by weight , but by price. These numbers are from my head so they might not be just perfect, but the half dash was around $500 and the whole dash was around $650. So, I said what the hell, $150 more and get the whole thing.
It couldn't saved more than a few pounds.
I also wanted the ability to remove the whole dash and all with just 4 screws.

Very cool indeed!
I wonder though... are you going to get a nasty glare from the dash?

The picture is kind of dark so it's hard to tell exactly what kind of finish it has.

Pretty neat though!

Nah, the glare is from my bad photography skills. Taken at night with a flash. That is one reason you can't see the whole dash. Looks much better in real life, like most pictures.

I'm pretty sure this came from AIR. I would have to look it up. But if it wasn't them, I'm sure GT would would have one.

That is SO cool! Where can I get that, and do you know what exactly the "half-dash" includes as opposed to the one you got?

thanks,

amir

I should note that this dash requires the cutting out of the current metal where the dash cover goes. You cannot simply put it over the metal frame work. The half dash and the pieced parts can be applied over the current metal on the dash.

Very Nice!

Itīs not pure carbone is it?

Looks like some glassfiber in the middle or?

I just love the look on the carbon, put up some pic during the daylight, thats when the carbon has fully effect!

"I putting some Carbon on my 930 also at the moment."

I don't know if it's the case here, but it's very common to sandwich a layer of fiberglass in between for added strength at a lower cost.

What's the "Gina" button do?

sandwich is correct.
"Gina" is the name of the car. I will think of her each time I start the car. Close and personal.

That was good Schuey.
My dad came over a few weeks ago while I was working on the car. He said "your still working on all the gauges" I said why do you ask that. He said "all the gauges are all crooked."
It was funny.

Why are all the guages tilted? I can see doing it for the tach, and maybe for the speedo, but not the rest. I have my tach rotated, but I really want to get it re-numbered properly.

Still very interesting... my last thought on the matter is in regards to the structural importance of the underlying metal dash structure.
I've ovbiously never looked at one, but I wonder about the effects of removing the metal?

Is it strictly there to provide support for the dash pad or does it play some role in terms of the structure of the car?

Very trick looking car there, RS.
Very nice indeed.

All the gauges are tilted for specific reasons. You have to consider the spokes on the steering wheel for one aspect and each gauge has a reason. When heading striaght I can glance and see exactly I need to see.
There is no structural integrity in the dash metal. It is just small stamped sheet metal. That is why I said earlier that there is not much of a weight savings.
