First Timer : Help me diagnose the Condenser Fan issue.
Hi guys,
I'm new in this great forum, I was so happy to find this wonderful place with all the great info and knowlegable people. I have a 1987 Carrera 3.2 that I just got the A/c leak fixed and charged with fresh R12, I have noticed that the front condenser fan is not working what so ever, and the high side pressure would rise past 160 PSI (car is at idle), I disconnected the fan and put in a direct 12V to it and sure eniough it was working fine, so I need to trace it back to the cars wiring harness. The problem is I have no idea how that fan is supposed to work, is it connected to a pressure sensing switch? or is it suppose to come on when A/C is on? Can someone please shed some light into it?? some pics wont hurt as well! Thanks,,, Hamad |

I don't know the answer, but at the top of the page click ("How To" Articles). Click on (911 65-89 Tech articles). There is a lot of good information there with pictures.
Here is the shortcut to the wiring diagrams. Porsche 911 Electrical Diagrams (1965- 1989)

Have you checked the inline fuse by the condenser fan? Are you getting 12 volts at the connector from the wiring harness?

I cant see any in-line fuse there. I checked the connector that goes to the fan and it doesnt have any power even with the A/C on.
