Fan nut torque values literature discrepancy

Wayne's Book (project 3) states that the fan nut torque is 29.5ft-lb.

Bentley's Service Manual (page 270-16) says 40 ft-lb.

Which one is the correct one?

It's 40 Nm which is 29.5 ft-lbs

Conversion errors happen all the time on torque values and everyone just pretends like they know enough to not make mistakes.

Good job checking it out

I think you are right! My muscle torque meter undoing the nut it tells me it is more like 29lb ft than 40lb ft.
