3.6 Conversion Guys, what the status?

I know a bunch of members are in the process of their 3.6 conversion, but lately the board has been silent late as to status. Me, I installed the front mounted oil cooler a couple weekends ago. Aside from that I've sent a bunch of $$$ everywhere and all I have is a RS heater tube from Thom, a motor on an airplane somewhere, a conversion kit somewhere, and a box of must do parts of seals, gaskets, etc. and the 946 Bently manual on the way from Pelican. Oh yea, the 3.0 is still in the car too. The waiting is killing me!

At least you left the 3.0 in the car, I took mine out last October and have been carless since!

My cooler is installed as well, cleaned up the engine bay and installed a new MC last weekend. I have to re-install the oil tank and a new clutch cable along with shifter bushings. I have done the coupler bushings.

I'd like to notch the tranny but probably need to wait on the motor to determine exactly where to make the cuts. Unless someone can provide measurments or a template to direct me.

Also need to make the cut for the wireharness to DME below the rear seat area. I think its a 2" hole. Other than that I'm ready to install, My motor should be here in two weeks! The waiting is killing me as well but getting real close.

I moved my motor forward in the engine compartment a little less than an inch back in November (by slamming it into a concrete wall). So I've been in a holding pattern for swap number two almost as long as Rob's been waiting for his first.

What's worse, I already know how much fun it is to have the 3.6, so the waiting is twice as hard.

Mine's running like a champ (sorry Jack )

Just changed the oil and wired an override switch for the trans cooler in preparation for Sears Point on Saturday.

Jack - if you somehow showed up, I'd give you some seat time.

Thanks, Thom, but I'm buried in work through the end of the month.

You practice your moves at Sears Point, though. Then bring that red-headed stepchild of yours over to Thunderhill on the 28th, so we can have another clash of the 3.6-liter titans.

My 3.6TT is at my mechanics shop, finally after months and months of waiting (more like over a year) and a shipping company that dropped the motor and did such damage that it had to be rebuilt. I'll post more when it gets in the car.

My car is now undergoing installation. I will try to get some pics. Once this is done, I have a set of RUF bumpers that will go on (along with a new paint job!).

Here is a picture of my motor from a couple of months ago...

My "new" 3.2 is going in tomorrow, as well as Sway Away rear spring plates. I can't wait.

You're going to need an electron microscope to see me in your rear-view mirror...
