Conversion issue !

70 conversion with 3.2L - 915 transmission

I drove the car for the first time today. There was a vibration noise under the rear seat , at first I was thinking something was wrong with the transaxle , upon inspection I found that the transmission is touching the tub under the rear seat ( see pics).

Anyone familiar with the issue ?
I am thinking of putting a washer / shim to drop the transmission a bit ,
As always , Your input is appreciated. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1492738374.JPG

You got it !

Since it's a simple and reversible change, I'd try to shim the transmission mount first to gain some clearance. Certainly checking for tire clearance makes sense as well, but it sounds like the transmission rubbing may well be the culprit.

When putting a 915 in an earlier chassis that didn't originally have a 915, the chassis has to be clearanced to allow the nose of the 915 to fit. This can be done with a BFH or by cutting and welding. I would not shim the transmission.

+1 what RD said. Not hard to do, not a large area, all as I recall on the left side, and you won't notice it inside the car as you don't need much.
