Wevo install grease question?

Another WEVO install and another great review.

The shifting is 100% better, first and second feel a lot more solid the step into 2ND is a lot easier to get through like the shifter has better mechanical advantage and the block out works great for reverse. Does not have the classic stick in bucket Porsche feel, I'm totally fine to see that go!

One great advantage of the WEVO is if you ever let someone else drive the car it will be much easier for them to drive the car with out tearing it up. The 915 original can be driven well but it takes time to get the feel of it.

Mine is an 77 915 and the block for reverse was pretty easy to get around. Not too bad as far as an install goes usual things, like get every thing and then realizing I have to take it off again to get the carpet down. And taking out the set screw for the shifting cup was PITA because I left the car in 3rd and access the screw I had to cut down a allen wrench.

But my question is this, did they load up these transmissions with grease from the factory, there was a lot of it in my car and on the shifter and on the shifting rod?

No, any factory grease is long gone (dried up) by now.
Probably just a previous owner going nuts with the grease.

Yeah called my local mechanical and he said there is no reason for the grease to be there. It was a frigging mess I wish I would have cleaned it all out of there I got most of it but not all.
