Looks like an external belt drive oil scavenge pump? Possible an early turbo? single plug?
Very tall set of slicks on those rims. Also see hollow sway bar? Old style turbo black calipers? Not sure what car this is but those are things I noticed? A 935?

959 had water cooled heads, these look air cooled? I also thought 959 at first.
959 also did not use those trailing arms or brake calipers. To me it looks like a old school specialty 911 like the 935?

I don't want to give the spoiler alert on this one myself, but...this particular 934 sold recently at a very "good...." auction at an impressive fetching price

yes it did, but it's far from the rarest or most expensive in the owners stable

no,
The foirst batch of 31 934, had CIS and aluminum cages. This is from the second batch of 10 w/ steel cages and Kugelfisher MFI, the 930/73 motor is +60hp & 500rpm from the original 930/71, retaining the stock air/water intercoolers. It's a fascinating car. The wheel well pic above shows where a street car would have had the gas filler, this one has stock steel 930 fenders but no filler components. The interior is the same blue sliver knit as came in my C3 right down to the door cards.

Canepa has an aluminum cage 934 in his collection. I must have taken 100 pictures of it last month when I was there.

thanks bill thats fantastic question .. do you think it is safe/ok to run the oil feed line under the axle where they have it on this car? i have just rerouted my -20 oil feed line thru the tunnel. but i was looping it to the top near the starter then down to the fitting which makes a wide berth around the axle. i am wondering this is overkill, and also defeats the purpose of having a relatively straight, level run from the front oil tank to the motor. sorry to hijack this. impt for me right now as finishing my rebild.
best wishes frank |
