alternative side mirrors

I am in the process of having my car repainted. Very likely from the dark grey metallic it is today (picture below) to an olive green or mustard. Always liked colors just not too happy.....

I have noticed the stock electrical SC mirrors are stupid heavy. Don't mind the look but seems like easy weight loss right there.

What is the consensus on door mirrors for that classic look ?

The stock look is the way to keep it looking correct. If it's a race car, then all bets are off.

I like the stock look too. Just not the weight and not the wiring that is hard to deal with with a doors off repaint. Will most likely find a way to de-pin the connectors to get them out of the doors. PITA

Oo, there are quite a few cool olives out there. I think it'd look great in a green.

Are you willing to drill new holes or cover over the existing ones?

Well I think you should keep them

Mine is a 77s, I figured it is my car and I would hang on to the originals. The originals just looked and were to heavy for me.
